This is exciting!
Yes I’m always excited to talk to you!!
Hey guys!
Hey hey
Hey!! Thanks for joining us live Karie!
Susan McVea, I was so happy to catch you guys live!
I’m not overwhelmed, but I’m more cautious because everyone has the meeting to be at – right?
Yes totally.
Commenting helps us know if we’re helping you!
Absolutely!
Hiiii yallll
Heeeyyy!! So nice to have you join us live Monica!
Susan McVea Heyyyyy Lady .. you are welcome.. great information
Monica thank you so much. I appreciate your time and also your kind words.
I am part of facebook groups
Yep! Focusing my time on just a few groups.
☝️ key!
key!
Yes that focus is so important. How do you decide which groups you focus on Karie?
Love it! Yes!
Cleaning up house right now!
nice!
Way to go!! The time you spend to do this pays back 10 fold
I found myself spending more time in the groups than on my business stuff. Too distracting!
Same. It became a full time job!
I haven’t left all the groups, and that allows me to still get tagged when people need to. But I’ve turned off notifications on most of them for sure.
There you go!
Love this tip for being able to get tagged in groups you’re not active in.
Hi Ed and Susan
Hey! Welcome!
Thanks for joining us live Brenda!
Is it best to turned off or delate
This is a great question. Glad we got to add our thoughts for you!
We all want participants to engage for sure – so it’s definitely a struggle from a group-owner’s point of view.
Yep for sure. I’ve debated closing my group at some points but I love the community. I don’t want people living in my group and not getting any work done.
But as a participant, we CAN’T be in all the groups all the time.
This
YES!!!!!
Hiiiiiiiiii
You nailed it, Ed! The rules come from there being so many people who don’t know how to be valuable members of a community. So admins clamp down on that with rules, instead of leading by example and fostering that community.
Yes!! They use rules instead of leadership. You nailed it right there.
Wayyyy to many rules. It’s like grade school in some of these groups
Hey Carla!
Oooo I am late. I need to re-watch this from the beginning as I start to open the doors soon to my own membership group ….
Can’t wait for you to launch!! Thanks for catching us live today Erica!
This is also an example of you (Ed) and Susan both being confident in your expertise and leadership. <3
So appreciate your kind words Karie. Thank you!
Me too Erica. I’m going to watch the replay as well
Let us know your thoughts as you watch the replay Carla!
Oh yeah – I use the newsfeed less and less.
Me too. Mostly check my groups and on down time scroll a bit through the newsfeed.
That’s true
I just did a group purge to streamline what I see.
Such a great idea and saves so much time and energy on what you out in front of yourself.
Yes and it cuts down my time on social media and that in of it self is awesome .
Wow I have 5 at the top. Then I have a bunch that I don’t watch at all . When I first started I thought I had to be in these groups
See and doesn’t that feel good knowing you don’t have to be
Do what’s right for you!
It’s a roller coaster for sure
Totally! The biggest self development journey I’ve ever experienced!
How do you both feel about building a big group vs small group.
This was a great question. Glad we could add our thoughts on this for you!
I’m not ready for a group yet
It’s not right for everyone. You’ll know when it’s right for you.
I prefer my page. You can’t beat the analytics and you can get your info out to the masses.
Yes! Data is everything.
Great idea page to membership model. Hmmmm
Ed Troxell that was gold… I just deleted a step .. want info…. cut the check lolllllll besides groups are going to a paid model but ……. fb gets a cut .. nope nope nope lolllll
Monica Wisdom
Yep. Not everyone needs a free group. If you engage with your page followers like Ed does so well it can work very well.
Does your paid membership include a Facebook group?
Yes Monica 🙂
It’s so hard to stop giving value once you do it. <3
Dropping platinum nuggets
Love this.
YES!!!
surveying your community is so helpful!!
Totally!!
Yeaaaa Ed
“Community is where you want to be, not where you have to be” – Ed Troxell Creative
Mic drop right there!!
I’m revamping my website. When do you survey
Survey whenever you have questions and an audience to ask
All the time!
Yes – just 1-3 people! It’s so easy to get overwhelmed otherwise.
Thanks to both of you for this valuable information
You bet!
Thanks for coming to the show Brenda! So appreciate you!
Hey Micki Webb, Special Education Consultant
